Solar power is a source of renewable energy that is attractive to a lot of people. Unlike windmills and many other green energy sources solar energy is a passive source of energy, and it can be easily implemented in almost any environment. To most people a windmill in their garden would seem like an outrageously ridiculous idea. Solar panels don’t come with the same reservations. The simple fact that once you have the panels installed on your roof you never have to worry about them again is attractive to a lot of people.

With a $30k+ budget I’m not going to start by telling you about all the good things your brand new solar energy system is going to do to the nature. I’d like to start by telling you a bit about how much your investment will save you in the future. If you have invested in a solar panel system that will generate the amount of energy you are using today you can take a look at your electric bills for the past year and take joy in the fact that you won’t have to pay is again this year, or the next year, or the next year, or…well, you get the point don’t you?

In addition you will be doing the environment a big favor! Although that might not be your main concern right now I think that’s something to consider as well. You will also help reduce the dependency on fossil energy sources, which we know is a huge concern these days. No doubt solar power has numerous advantages. There are many things you have to consider. Solar power is many things, but cheap isn’t one of them. You have to think of this as a long term investment in your own future and in your kids’ future, financially and otherwise.
